Question- In the case of AA genotype, what is the blood group?

Answer- The blood group is of A type as they both are the same allele to decide the blood group.

Blood consists mostly of a fluid called plasma, together with three types of blood cells- red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets.

Every genotype or phenotype is controlled by the genes, On the other hand, the dominant one suppresses the recessive gene and show its own characters.
Like this, the blood group in human is controlled by the three types of genes that are as follows-
[1] Ia
[2] Ib
[3] Io or I



These three genes interact in allelic pair and give the final result that decides the blood group of human.

Dominant- Ia, and Ib are the dominant genes to determine the blood group

Recessive - Io or I is the recessive gene to determine the blood group.

NOTE- The type of blood group which we are studying right now is called as AB blood group 

              and it shows Co-Dominance, means IaIb type of blood will show both the characters.

            ( A character & B characters) means both antibodies will present in human                         blood that        
             is why it is called as universal acceptor if Rhesus factor (Rh) is present in the blood.



Above mentioned three types of genes can make 6 types of pairs-

{a} In the case of IaIo, the blood group will be - A type

{b} In the case of IbIo, the blood group will be - B type

{c} In the case of IaIb, the blood group will be - AB type

{d} In the case of IoIo, the blood group will be - O type

{e} In the case of IaIa, the blood group will be - A type

{f} In the case of IbIb, the blood group will be - B type.
